The day Camila found out about coconuts

I remember it as if it happened yesterday.  I had just returned from my grandmas house with tons of grocery bags full of the most intriguing things...stuff that I had left behind when I moved out, books, art materials, along with cilantro, peppers and onions to make a "sofrito" later that night. 

As usual Camila -the president and only member of my welcome home committee, ran towards me when she saw me.  Imagine me trying to manage the gate, Camila and the bags all at the same time, it was quite an spectacle.

Well...somehow she managed to get her self tangled between my arms and the bags and faster than I could blink there was stuff all over the place.

At first the smells and forms of the things that popped out of the bags astounded her but what really caught her attention were the three big brown coconuts (stem included) that I had brought home with the intention of using as planters for my orchids.

It was love at first sight...ever since then coconuts have top the chart of Camila's "favorite toys ever".
